Afrimat Aggregates Operations, based in De Kop Quarry has a vacancy for a:
Site Mechanic
Minimum Qualification/ Experience:
- Minimum Grade 12
- Qualified Earthmoving equipment Mechanic (Red Seal/Trade Test)
- Valid Driver’s License - Code 10/14
- 5 years’ experience as a Site Mechanic\ Diesel Mechanic
- Pre-employment medical required
- Computer Literate
- Be willing to work overtime and weekends as and when required
- Will be able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Will be able to work independently as well in a team environment
Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):
- Maintain professional workmanship standards
- Ensure strict adherence to applicable Quality Assurance Processes & Procedures
- Have knowledge of engines, hydraulics pneumatics, undercarriage and auto electrical
- Repair loaders; dumpers; excavators; trucks & LDV’s within specification and agreed repair times
- Ensure complete, accurate and timeous job card feedback and repair reports
- Perform troubleshooting, Fault Diagnosis and do RCA on failures
- Perform machine inspections on vehicles and compile backlog lists
- Coordinate assistants to perform first line of maintenance tasks
- Pro-actively support & participate in safety & work practice related initiatives
- Ensure use of Personal Protective Equipment in accordance with the applicable policy & prescriptions
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards
- Ensure good management & maintenance of tools
