Process Engineer
Overview
Afrimat Limited is seeking an experienced Process Engineer with 3-5 years’ experience in beneficiation plant production and process design. In this role you will play a pivotal part in production optimisation, process development, equipment selection, technical specifications, and process control. Your hands-on experience with commissioning activities will be essential as you will be involved and responsible for the successful implementation of projects from concept to production. The role requires experience in Rare Earths, Phosphates, Iron ore, Manganese, Coal and Industrial Minerals with a background in project design. Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Competencies:
- Degree in Extractive Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualification
- 3-5 years’ experience in a process plant production and projects environments
- Expertise in process design of mass and energy balances
- Project management experience with the relevant project management training (Ex. PMBOK)
- Contractor Management experience will be advantageous
- Good data analytical skills
- Understanding of process plant control elements i.e. control and operating philosophy, control logics, and functional specifications
- Commissioning knowledge i.e. commissioning strategy and planning, Hazop studies and actual plant commissioning experience
- Professional registration would be advantageous although not essential
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Manage and lead process engineering activities for mining and minerals processing projects
- Develop, review and optimise beneficiation processes
- Perform metallurgical and chemical process reviews, simulations and analyses to ensure process efficiency
- Lead process plant projects during all project phases, including design, commissioning and handover
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to align process engineering with overall project objectives
- Support client relationships by addressing technical queries and providing innovative solutions
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations and project requirements
- Prepare and present feasibility reports, proposals and documentation to stakeholders
