Minimum Qualifications / Experience
- N2 technical course/ Diploma
- At least 2 years experience
- Have own transport and driver’s license
- Knowledge of cement manufacturing process
- General knowledge of maintenance discipline
- Safety, health, environmental and quality training
- Working knowledge of ISO standards
- Forklift and Loader will be an added advantage

Performance Criteria
- Obtain plant status information from all relevant sources at the start of the shift
- Use checklist/job plans to systematically walk through the designated area and inspect the condition of equipment, check that parameters are within specified limits (First Level Inspections)
- Participates in the establishment of routes, schedules and detailed checklists for first level inspections
- Leading pre-start inspections of equipment and process after stoppage
- Complete the checklist for handover to the next shift
- Lead fault finding and resolve issues immediately. Assist maintenance if scope of repair-work requires additional spares and resources
- Communicate work status, hazards, abnormalities & unresolved problems clearly to all relevant persons
- Detect & record abnormalities and potential problems, communicate them to CCR or superiors & take if possible, prompt corrective actions • Support RCA and suggest improvements or inclusions of new items in checklists

- Check and top up lubricant level of machines & equipment
- Carry out accurate stocks measurement according to procedures (incl. Safety aspects) & report the stock levels to CRO/Shift Manager
- Identify and perform minor repairs and maintenance to be carried out by mechanical department
- Assist the maintenance team with jobs requiring coordination between maintenance and production
- Ensure auxiliary equipment operates properly after start –up and report any abnormalities
- Manually start, adjust and stop equipment in accordance with procedures
- Follow up on work requested, and testing of equipment after work is completed
- Attend safety meetings
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates all workstations in the packing plant and a forklift as assigned by the Production Foreman
- Conducts pre-shift inspections and completes relevant reports according to procedure
- Optimizes the operation of the plant as well as anticipates problems that may affect performance to take appropriate action or seek help from Production Foreman
- Attends monthly safety meetings where safety performance is discussed as well as improvement required
- Reporting of significant incidents and near miss incidents as well as participating in formal inquiries where necessary
- Monitoring the performance trend during the shift and investigating and reporting on major deviations of KPI’s according to established protocols
- The maintenance of good housekeeping standards during the shift
- Reporting of maintenance problems to the Production Foreman and ensuring that appropriate action is taken to restore optimum performance of the plant
- Performs any other reasonable tasks when requested by Production Foreman
- Adhere to the group’s health and safety rules
- Understand and comply to the group’s health and safety standards
- Ensures the safety of laboratory equipment
- Participate in all health and safety campaigns
