Forklift Driver x8
Minimum Qualifications / Experience
- Entry Qualification Grade 8
- 2 years’ experience
- Have own vehicle and driver’s license
- Knowledge of forklift driving
- General knowledge of maintenance discipline
- Safety, health, environmental and quality training
- Working knowledge of ISO standards
- Attention to details
- Supervisory skills
- Results orientated

- Minimum waste related to broken bags and damaged plastic film due to poor operating conditions and poor equipment conditions

- Maintaining good working relationships with colleagues by communicating honestly with due consideration to dignity and respect with concern for the interests of the company in mind
- Identifying critical issues that may affect performance and communicating those with the leader and team members
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates all workstations in the packing plant and a forklift as assigned by the Production Foreman
- Conducts pre-shift inspections and completes relevant reports according to procedure
- Optimizes the operation of the plant as well as anticipates problems that may affect performance to take appropriate action or seek help from Production Foreman
- Move in-process materials and finish stock to/from production areas
- Attends monthly safety meetings where safety performance is discussed as well as improvement required
- Reporting of significant incidents and near miss incidents as well as participating in formal inquiries where necessary
- Monitoring the performance trend during the shift and investigating and reporting on major deviations of KPI’s according to established protocols
- The maintenance of good housekeeping standards during the shift
- Reporting of maintenance problems to the Production Foreman and ensuring that appropriate action is taken to restore optimum performance of the plant
- Performs any other reasonable tasks when requested by the Supervisor
- Adhere to the group’s health and safety rules
- Understand and comply to the group’s health and safety standards
- Ensures the safety of laboratory equipment
- Participate in all health and safety campaigns
