Excavator Operator
Minimum Qualifications / Experience
- Grade 12
- Must be literate and functionally numerate
- Valid unendorsed RSA driver’s license
- 3 – 5 years in a similar environment
- Basic mechanical knowledge and background advantageous
- Must have a valid operator certificate for an Excavator
- Able to work in a team and under pressure
- Able to work extended hours and /or shifts
- Be willing and able to operate different machines as required during a shift
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Perform daily pre- start checks
- Operate Excavator and perform all related tasks
- Report on general elementary mechanical problems
- Operate all equipment with adherence to the relevant Health and Safety advisories and procedures
- Communicate effectively within the team
- Assist with housekeeping on site as required
- Keep the Excavator clean, safe and in good working order
- Change and operate special attachments to the equipment
- Carry out instructions as given by Management
