Afrimat Quarrying South Africa (Pty) Ltd, based at Peak Quarry – Eerste River has a vacancy for a:
Artisan Assistant (Boilermaker) x2
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
- Relevant technical or trade-related qualifications will be advantageous
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role within the mining environment
- Basic knowledge of boilermaking, metal fabrication, and welding techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and cutting equipment
- Valid driver’s license will be advantageous
- Safety-conscious with a good understanding of workplace health and safety standards
- Must be medically fit in terms of the MHSA
Duties and responsibilities (not limited to)
- Assist qualified Boilermakers in the fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of metal structures and equipment
- Prepare materials and equipment for welding and fabrication tasks
- Operate basic tools and machinery safely and efficiently
- Conduct basic maintenance on tools and machinery
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Support the team in ensuring that all work is carried out according to specifications and safety standards
- Carry out general labouring tasks as required
- Report any defects, hazards, or unsafe practices to the supervisor
- Work safely
- Adhere to all SHE rules and regulations that are applicable
- Be willing to work overtime as and when required
- Acknowledge that Management reserves the right to allocate additional tasks when for wherever reason the task cannot be completed on the standard allocated job
