Afrimat Cement Plant, based in Lichtenburg has a vacancy for a:
Assistant Accountant
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
- Relevant degree: BCOMM
- At least 2 years’ experience post BCOMM qualification
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
Purpose of this position
The Assistant Accountant will fulfil all cost accounting related duties of the Lichtenburg plant (manufacturing) part of the business for the region. He/she is to help achieve the Company’s vision and objective by providing accountability and support, combined with providing accurate reporting of financial performance.
- Ensuring accurate and timeous reporting
- Supporting all departments with stock control and capturing of information
- Devising and implementing internal control strategies to effectively support the operations with on time receipting of costs and accurate allocations of costs
- Ensuring accurate monthly reporting of all balance sheet accounts such as accruals
- Expediting of open orders
- General knowledge on BBBEE reporting and requirements
