Stock Cement Bricks: Introduction

At our SA Block precast facility in Redan Gauteng, reclaimed clinker is used in the production process of cement building bricks as a replacement for manufactured aggregates and sand.

The pozzolanic properties and low relative density of reclaimed clinker reduces both the manufacturing cost and weight per unit.

This allows transporters to increase its payload volume per load which reduces the transport cost per unit and lowers the labour effort required by bricklayers at the building site.

Our bricks is therefore considered a more cost-effective option for building walls that will be plastered.

Stock Cement Bricks: Products

SA Block's Stock cement bricks are manufactured to the SANS 1215:2008 standard with the following dimensions: 73mm x 100mm x 220mm and left to cure until it reaches a minimum crushing strength of 7MPa / 10.5MPa / 14MPa depending to which strength classification they have been manufactured to..

The average weight of our stock bricks is 2.65kg and the average bricks required per square meter on a single wall is 55 and a double wall 110.

Our stock cement bricks are durable and strong.

Strength vs height of wall construction (depending on engineering prescription):

7MPa are suitable for the construction of single storey buildings or boundary walls.

10 MPa bricks are suitable for both single and double storey walls.

14MPa bricks are suitable for multi-story buildings.
